Gov. Among Ed Panlilio

This December 11,
the Province of Pampanga
celebrated its 436th Anniversary.

The strange thing was,
not a single one among
the Provincial Board members,
the 21 City/Municipal Mayors,
the Basketball Coach/Vice Governor,
attended the official celebrations.

Among Ed was snubbed by all
of Pampanga's Low-Quality Local Officials,
who seem hellbent on driving out the
duly-elected Governor-Priest out of the
Provincial Capitol by the end of 2007,

Ang pagkakilala ko lang kay Gov. Ed Among Panlilio is that he was a priest, who chosed to run for the sake of the better good of his beloved Pampanga. Furthermore he is also the first politician who opened to the media PHP500,000 cold cash he allegedly received from Malacañang.

Whatever happened to that stash of money given to the representatives, we can never can tell. Namatay na lang yung issue, the same way na namatay ang issue about Hello Garci Scandal, NAIA Terminal 3, Overpricing of Macapagal Avenue, and even the recent ZTE Broadband Deal. Hindi pa rin kasama dyan yung North Rail Overpricing Project.

gaano ba kabobo ang tingin ng ilang politicians natin sa mga Pilipino?

Gov. Among Ed is one of the reason i believe Filipinos do still have hope, nakakalungkot lang na sa Pampanga, ang mga tao lang mismo ang sumusuporta sa kanya, how about the rest of the politicians? Bakit mait na mait silang mapatanggal na lang sya instead? Is corruption so deeply etched on our culture that most of us would rather choose to stay away from the issue? Magwalang bahala and all?

For all its worth, Gov. Among Ed is a breathe of fresh air in our stenchful politics. Nakakatawa kasi na kung susumahin ang gustong palabasin ng mga politiko natin -- lahat sila malinis, lahat sila walang bahid, walang may kasalanan. Masakit sa ulo. Kay Gov. Ed ko rin nakikita ang isang underdog na magwawagi rin sa huli, yung tipo ng bidang nagpapabugbog muna sa huli pero babangon at magbibigay ng pag-asa sa huli.

I just hope Gov. Ed survives it all, the false accusations, the character assassinations, death threats and all other bad things being throw at him figuratively and literally...
