IECEP x License Renew x Nightmare Revisited

Ok... E di tapos ka nang magboard exams no? Tapos Nakuha mo na yung license mo, ano yung susunod na episode? Yes! Renewal...

For us ECEs, PRC has implemented the new ECE Mandate; the RA 9292 replacing RA 5734, the same mandate that changed the ECE Board Exams.

IECEP...
Institute of Electronics Engineers of the Philippines
(formerly known as Institute of Electronics and Communication Engineers of the Philippines)

Haven't heard our organization name for quite a while.
Ngayon kung magpapa-renew for example ako, since ka-e-expired na yung license ko last year,
Renewal plus membership with IECEP would cost Php 1350.00.

I do believe, na mabuti na merong IECEP, ok din sana kung merong mga news or whatever coming from the organization, but visiting the website all i can find are under construction pages, new board exam passers and few seminars for Electronics...

Whatever happened to Communications? Kasama naman sa stipulated law, pero kung ano ang talagang mangyayari -- Who can be sure?

Ewan ko ba -- the whole time, i never received anything substantial from IECEP, its just some requirement i had to pay so that i'll be able to get my license. I'm not sure kung ano ba talaga ang ginagawa ng mga IECEP people, but one is for sure... I can't look forward going back to academe without having to go through the PRC License Application again, PRC and their obnoxious employees, the only government agency i known so far who has the guts to do ego-tripping with Professional License holders. May angas talaga ang PRC -- Tanungin nyo kahit sinong kumuha ng professional license I'm sure meron silang kwento about that.

But for now... i guess i have no plans renewing my license yet, pag sinipag na ako at hindi ko na masyadong panghihinayangan ang pang-renew ko. I just hope by the time na magre-renew na ako eh hindi naman umabot ng ++Php10,000.00 ang fee... Nah ~~ Can't be sure of that as well.

do you have any contact numbers or any e-mail address of the newly elected iecep student officers on this school year 2008-2009... please send them to me via e-mail...thank you very much....

i have similar sentiments as you do...i feel that IECEP has made a way to milk some money away from the ECEs with nothing really significant in return..i do hope they would be able to improve the organization dramatically so that they may convince others to renew their licenses

hi! i just came across your comments and likewise, hindi rin ako nagrenew ng license kasi required ang membership sa IECEP. e last 2003 pa nag-expire license ko... Ü imagine ko nlng mababayaran ko... sayang, kasi i don't see any activities from the org now that i could say na hindi masasayang ang ibabayad ko.

I am renewing my licence but i was required to have a cetificate of good standing from IECEP. For the record since i passed the board exam in 1995 I am no longer active member of IECEP.How can i acquire it and are there fees to pay? I am from region 2.Is there regional office of IECEP here?

gerrycho said...

hi nicky25 im not sure if there are any IECEP regional Offices -- but since none of that is mentioned on their website

there are only local chapters and regional chapters

check http://www.iecep.ph

is this the first time you are to renew your license since 1995? i can only imagine kung magkano babayaran mo , for the renewal fees plus IECEP membership.

My problem is baka kalaki naman ang babayaran sa IECEP just to renew my licence. Anyway, my licence expired 2004 pa.Is it really that matter na maconvert pa kasi. Tuloy humirap ang magrenew kadami pa hinahanap whish is really magastos.

Well, well well! I did continue my renewal of licence and i was able to acquire a certificate from IECEP in Cagayan State University. It's not that difficult to acquire actually. I paid P1050 as membership fee for 3 years. I just have to wait a notice from PRC to claim my licence. How does it look like when communications is ommited? Hope that it isn't that really bad.

good for you nicky, thats Php1,000 you will not be getting back from IECEP :D in fairness to them marami silang makaline-up na seminars -- helpful especially if your on the electronics field...

Hi to all! may nightmare din ako sa pagrenew ng license ko. IECEP Baguio chapter requires anyone who would like to renew their license to pay all the years na di member ng IECEP.

Hi nylivur and everyone.

Sobrang sama ang na-experience ko this day to renew my license. Saan ka makakakita ng ikaw na ang magbabayad pero pahihirapan kapa dahil kailangan mo pang puntahan yung main office nila sa Mandaluyong or hanapin mo yung office nila sa Ayala blvd. dko ma gets kung bakit mandatory ang pagsali sa IECEP. wala naman yan sa sinumpaan mong oath nung nakapasa ka sa exam at alam ko IECEP is just an org, I have no obligation or what so ever sa IECEP. One day ikukwento ko lahat yung bad experience ko. In short, hindi ako nakapag renew sa BWISIT!!!

Hi Everyone, My license just expired this May. I'm planning to renew within this year but I wala akong accumulated points. My past job was not related to our field and I haven't attended any seminars and the like.
Basically, zero point talaga.
What will be the advise for this?

Here's my experience when I tried to renew my license. 2015 pa nag expired ang license ko. To my surprised nung magre-renew ako, hinahanapan nila ako ng COGS. Nong nagrenew kasi ako last 2012 and at the same time it was converted to Electronics Engineer, hindi na ako hinanapan ng COGS sa PRC main office.

I was based in Singapore at hindi ako aware na meron palang ganitong policy about COGS. Bakit kelangan mag attend pa ng mga IECEP seminars just to get points? Hindi ba valid yong years of work experience and participated trainings and seminars?

Hello guys, need advise pls.

I'm planning to renew my ECE license, 2007 pa expire license ko, meaning almost 10 years na expired, hindi na ako nakapag renew noon. Thanks.

here is my dilemma, i already paid the prc fees for the renewal but i still don't have any documents to submit to iecep for the cpe points required for their evaluation, also i have not attended their seminars. so in such case, will i not be able to get my prc card foe electronics engineer since i cannot show them a certificate of good standing? waste of money then...

Hi sir i am from tuguegarao. I havnt renew my lic3nse since it was stolen together with my wallet back 2011. I got my license or passed the BE 2008.
when i got back here in Ph 2014 from KSA i tried to renew my license in morayta. But they are asking for a certificate from iecep which includes also the earned cpd points.
now as i am writing this i am planning to renew my license and my question is hiw will i get a cert from iecep? Also i am planning to enroll for a technical course in tesda etc. A practical training. Are those trainings in tesda etc. Has equivalent cpd points? I was thinking instead of earning points from iecep seminars which are not interesting or not that much knowledge to earn. I wilk just enroll for a proper training instead like those being offered in tech school like tesda. Are those training like general electrnics technician are being accepted fir a certain cpd points?

Sorry wala na talaga ako ka id-idea about our organization.
