PETA Naked Protest

However noble the intentions of PETA (People for Ethical Treatment of Animals) I don’t think protesting in nude wearing only body paint will do anything besides attracting pervs to their rallies. At least hey will get the attention even from those who would look at them like “piece of meat”.

Just last September 13, 2007 they have staged a protest. Asking for the closure of Manila Zoo and including all the zoos in the country…

Hmn… giving that kind of thought, kung halimbawa ba na pakakawalan natin ang mga hayop at lahat dahil “they should not be treated as prisoners” tapos biglang kunyari umatake ng tao ang isang hayop, extreme example tiger umatake ng tao napatay nya yung tao. With Mr. Jason Baker’s logic will that give us the right to capture and imprison the animal?

Jury: Tiger of the wilds versus People of the Philippines, you are hereby in this honorable court in the count of attacking an innocent bystander Mr. So and So. How will you plea?

Tiger: RwoooooR!

Defense: Our client plea not-guilty on the grounds that this is the tiger’s natural instinct.

Judge: we heard the defense, the client is innocent

(*applause!)

Being a low budgeted park, I guess Manila Zoo can really be a disappointing sight to those who are easily offended by animal cruelty.

But the zoo system although it hinders the natural instinct and wane off the animal’s capability of living in it natural environment, it can’t be said that zoo is all bad, for one the studies learned in these facilities helps in saving our earth-mates. Of course they won’t be endangered if not for humans on the first place but come-on… they are already are and there are people willing to help.

Animals being produced for consumption and how they are being handled can be a heartless sight. And hurtful it may seem we can’t careless but just to make sure they are actually processed sanitarily. People eat meat and that’s that. Natural lang naman kasi yun… sabagay PETA is not imposing anything to anybody it’s the way of life they chosen to have. No harm done to anybody. Ok lang…

There are good and evil… PETA is for sure on the good side.
But the world as a whole is a cruel one. And the wilds I can’t imagine if it can be more kind.

Sa akin lang… PETA is a level higher of the better good that they are fighting for. Cause for one we all hear people who are actually living and treated like animals. The need for persons with a heart to save another creature is the same heart that should have space saving an actual person. How about justice for the soldiers decapitated in Sulu? Or neophytes getting killed in mindless hazings? How about the homeless persons in our streets? The children being lured to prostitution and sex crimes? And the list can just go on…

Those kind of offense to another human for sure can’t be fought by rallying naked on the streets. Whoever had the idea that kind of action can actually save the animals from cruelty?

Bullshitan

I was listening to Chico and Delamar’s (RX Monster Radio 93.1) Top-Ten of the Day. The topic was “Your Reaction after an Insulting Remark”. Pansin mo ba? Pag gusto mong maging sarcastic and witty you opt to listen to Magic 89.9 and if you like light radio but spontaneous nonetheless ok ang RX Monster.

Anyways, there was this entry in the Top-Ten, friends are having a conversation, one said “Nagpaayos ka ng ilong mo yuck! Bakit!? Gano ba kapangit ang ilong mo dati?” the other friend abruptly replied “Katulad ng ilong mo ngayon…”

The friend who made the comment was mean… the retaliation was even more (although the recipient much deserve it though).

In that perspective, Delamar in a way opened up the topic that most blogs today sounds mean… if you sound feisty with angst, you sound hip… you are “in”

So, does your blog sounds mean?

Mas benta nga ba talaga pag ang tono mo ng blog mo eh pagalit? Sarcastic? Monotone?

Kargado ng emotion yung bang pagalit… especially if that article is making a point.

I have only seen only one blogwar, at first ok ang usapan pag may sense pa ang pinagsasasabi nila pero kapag laitan na wohhoooo! The hits are really flooding in. walang katulad ang pagkachismoso ng pinoy at ang katotohanan namang ang saya-saya manood ng nag-lalaitan, nag-aaway… at hindi ka kasali.

Ayoko kong makipag-away… miron lang ako… wehe…

iPhone – iCaramba!

I haven’t even touched an iPhone, pero na-feature na ito sa ilang mga TV shows, flashing its touch screen, superb user friendly environment, pag nag fli-flip ka nga page sa notebook, you can zoom in and out a picture by catching the image with your thumb and index finger. Wala nga itong
Buttons and it purely relies on its touch screen. Technically the iPhone has 4-8Gig shared memory, Wifi ready, Touch Screen siempre! (dapat banggitin ng paulit-ulit-ulit) pero wala itong 3G!!! What? Pero ok lang lang… meron naman syang EDGE (faster from of GPRS) to connect to the Internet. With its Safari browser specialized talaga ang phone na to browse Yahoo, Google and YouTube (The only phone that can actually view YouTube videos). (for complete specs).

Medyo malupit lang kasi eh, malaking balita na ma-unlock ang much coveted phone locked to Cingular USA! I mean what can be so special about the phone? That we haven’t actually saw before and making all of the hype… here is an interesting review by Crave. Realistic and funny yes…

“Why no 3G compatibility? The answer might be as simple as the fact that Cingular's 3G coverage still has gaping holes outside of major U.S. cities. “

Waha! No 3G? well… ang laki naman kasi ng US eh, and with all the news about the low consumer output and enthusiasm about 3G eh, hindi na nakakagulat kung bakit hindi nag-utilize ang Cingular building a 3G Smartphone, but of course they could have took advantage of it to further introduce 3G, nah… ikaw? Ilang beses ka nab a nakakita ng nagvi-video call?

“Can you download directly from iTunes? This looks to be a big disappointment with the iPhone. Early reports, such as this iTWire interview with Apple's VP of iPod Products Greg Joswiak, say no.”

Why download from iTunes… eh ang dami kayang source other than them… medyo lenient kasi tayo with regards to piracy eh. and what the iPhone plays can actually be played in other phones… ibang format nga lang… this part I guess hindi kasi natin culture yung tipong you like a song? You down it from a certain site with your phone, madalas sa hindi sa internet natin to kinukuha, or hinihintay ma-bluetooth from a friend or whoever na meron.

“Just what does Apple mean by "it runs OS X"? And what do they mean by "multitasking"? During his keynote address, Steve Jobs mentioned the ability to multitask as one of Mac OS X's strong suits, as well as a reason why the operating system was chosen for the iPhone.”

Multitasking? That’s just overrated, almost all the phone in the market can do that… come on..

“Who's this phone for, anyway? Who can afford this thing?
This answer is simple: Paris Hilton.
The iPhone looks to be the next glamour phone, albeit one with serious potential. It's billed as a "smart phone," which brings to mind business users. At $599 for the 8GB model and $499 for the 4GB model, it's definitely priced for business users. “

Mahal ang iPhone. Period. Pero nito lang Apple dropped the price of the iPhones by almost $200! Hwow! and siempre it can’t just go like that it greatly infuriated the iPhone’s die hard fans… to soothen them up Apple gave them some $100 dollar credit, for their next Apple product purchase… Nakakatawa ba yun? Lugi ka pa rin ng $100!

“Will Apple give the user any freedom? Want to know why there's no memory card slots on the iPhone, nor will there likely be a user-replaceable battery?”

Yup… Sheeesshh…

What goes into a cell-phone purchase? Cell phones aren't MP3 players. Even if Apple has the sexiest phone out there, many important factors come into play when anyone buys a cell phone.

Mabigat ang hamon ng Apple na i-conquer pati ang cellphone industry, napakabata pa nila sa ganun industriya at sobrang beterano na ng mga babanggain nila… if iPhone exceeds the fact that its being too costly and somehow gets to prove that they are not just riding over their hype name, they might have a more promising future. I doubt they would even last that long… basta ako… personally I won’t leave my nokia phone (n73) to this golden priced smart-multimedia phone, besides wala akong pampalit… wehehe

Socialite x Malu Fernandez x Manila Standard

From beautiful ella’s site. She attached an announcement from Manila Standard August 27 Issue.
‘Lo and behold Malu Fernandez’s Divalicious column will resume!

Lufet!

Pambihira naman din talagang writer si Malu. Discredited and all she will still / has the guts to write! If you just logged to the net and somehow missed all the drama and the stir; Malu unwittingly insulted the general OFWs, specifically those who are based in Dubai, in one of her article for People's Asia. It of course created a huge stir. Plus the fact that before she actually made her public apology she has thrown a defiant article explaining that she is just being a diva, and all of those who failed to laugh and get her wit are too simple minded to even understand her.

And after her public apology and her confirming that she is resigning. Seems like Manila Standard chose to have her reinstated. Syet! Ang Galeng!

In my opinion, Malu is just one of those people who think they own the world and society revolves around them. Labeling people who are not in their circle as lesser beings or even lesser creatures, to those who have extreme of this complex.

In just so happened that Malu has the channel to say it out load. Dun sya nagkamali. It’s a good thing that you have confidence but having it to the extent of insulting those who are around you, that’s plain stupidity.

May ilan talagang gugustuhin na mag-stand out sa iba. Ma-identify with those who are famous and influential. Power and fame. Life is just unfair because those who live it can be so unfair as well. Stereotyping is a sign of immaturity, the mindset of thinking that you are so above to all those who are around you will be the same thought that will pull you, slamming and kissing the floor. How many times history told us of stories of those self absorbed thinking they are gods just to be destroyed and be humbled in the end.

Malu for sure felt what was like to think you are so up there, and looking down to other people as if she’s a diva among men and be grilled to perfection those persons she have hurted. Manila Standards can take this to their advantage for the fact na talagang susubaybayan sya at kung meron ba syang controversial na bibitawan na naman. parang freak show sa perya. Having this fully understood I doubt Malu will ever be able to write controversial/insulting stuff again, she maybe gutsy but she can’t be that stupid.
