Goals and Teamwork – a DOTA Analogy

Have you ever heard people who says that DOTA, Warcraft or Violent Videogames are evil? I mean instrumento daw ng demonyo yada yada?

Of course there can be better analogy stuffs that we can employ to discuss Goals and Teamwork, but for my entry – I’ll be using DOTA hehe… enjoy!

DOTA All Stars – Hindi lang puro patayan :D

Know your goals, whatever it is. Set it up – vision it happening, Plan your course of action, know the requirements and sacrifices, skills or tools you might need and help you might employ. Para sa analogy na to, target nating buwagin ang Frozen Throne, and to vanquish evil forever! Woooooh noble!

Second Thing about Teamwork, Know Yourself – para sa malupit analogy na to, I’ll be using Shadow Shaman -- Rhasta Baby tadah! Know your strengths, know your weaknesses, embrace them both. Your Strengths give you guts and confidence, your Weaknesses keeps you humble and focused that tells you to work smart and efficiently. And so you know yourself. After that know your team, what they can do, their strength and weaknesses. If possible, amplify their strength and cover-up for their weaknesses. Likewise, they will do the same for you and as part of your goal – you must be aware of what you are up against.

Disablers and HP Tanks – Playing to Strengths and Weaknesses

Knowing what you are up against, the team can work efficiently to on who will going to face who, who can work on a certain task according to his strengths. For this game Rhasta chose to face Morphling.

Rhasta vs. Morphling –Keeping it Safe

According to Stephen Covey, the Maturity Continuum can be classified to three levels, Dependence, Independence and lastly Interdependence. Simply putting, Dependence is the lowest aspect of the Maturity Continuum, maybe you don’t have the necessary skills yet – kailangan mo ng alalay, ng tulong, dependent. Independence is when you can take your own task confidently on your own, after being taught or acquiring new skills, Interdependence is when you can finally join in a team because you can give something to the team. You bring your strengths to help the team, it the only way you can be helpful and efficiently grow – staying with your strengths.

.
Serpent Wards – Standing your Grounds, Playing to your Strengths

As a member of the team – you should be aware with how the other team members are doing as well. If they need help or anything – likewise keep them updated with how you are doing.

Listening to the sound of the forest – Keeping updated with the Team

You can sometimes encounter hardships – but don’t falter, when you fail, stand up, reflect and move forward

Everybody wants to go to Heaven – But nobody wants to die

With experience, and a positive outlook to failing – you can move forward. and if you encounter something similar, you can do better.

Retreat – Not always a sign of Cowardice

As the team progress, you can finally get Interdependence to work. Synergy does magic, when the team works as one the team can do more.

Synergy -- Working as One

When the team flee because the odds are overwhelming, make sure nobody is left behind.

Fleeing – looking for each other’s back.

Attack smartly and efficiently. Keeping the focus on one goal. No ego-tripping, especially when the life of the team is at stake. Mutual Cooperation is a must.

Focus Fire – Taking advantage of the adversaries’ weakness

When attacked – Stay with the team to defend, it’s in this time loyalty is measured and tempered.

Teamwork and Loyalty – Standing strong through Hardships

With overwhelming Synergy the team ensures its victory.

One Team – Synergized – Unstoppable

And finally, always stay with the team’s objective. Walang paligoy – ligoy. Taking only the objective – and with that the team can win.

Taking the Only Objective – Winning with the Team.

Ayan, so there we have it. Keeping it simple, siemps in real life more factors should be considered. But the importance of the team is to create synergy and forward to a unified goal.

Directions

Its entirely different knowing what you want, and knowing how to get it. For the last few weeks, i lie awake late at night... Wide awake, i dont think i'm energized though, it felt more like frustrated.

Eager to make a difference, eager for quantum leaps of change... With lessons of humility, i contain myself...

All in God's time.

I know my midterm plans, the conditions i must fulfill first. And one of the conditions that must be enacted is working on our deadlines, the plans must remain concrete.

its no different from planning, scheming, managing the deadlines i have laid for the board exams. Its different this time though, since the scope is larger.

i want more of that moment.

Binibining Pilipinas 2008 -- Janina San Miguel

I must say, all is doing well until it gets so entertaining!
Of course with the question and answer part.

The talk of the town Binibining Pilipinas World -- Janina San Miguel.

Hindi ko gets... how come Ms. Janina still won a crown? Or i guess in other categories she won landslide and eventhough she failed to impress with her thoughts her aesthetic value is just damn high.

I wonder if we can have maybe a representative who can't speak English and just make use of an interpreter for her to speak. Hindi ba puede yun? Yung laman naman ang pinaguusapan diba? Its just hard to imagine a beauty queen who would also pass for an English-Carabao Comedian. Ms. Melanie Marquez may have her share of English Breakdowns but her composure doesn't startle, and her confidence still intact.

Pero di bale, Ms. Janina still have time to prepare... and hopefully she grows with all the criticisms, for one -- I'm sure she already realized the improvements and points she should strive on, moreover have realized that representing the country on a grander scale is no laughing matter and you will not be taken seriously just by saying "Eto na..."

IECEP x License Renew x Nightmare Revisited

Ok... E di tapos ka nang magboard exams no? Tapos Nakuha mo na yung license mo, ano yung susunod na episode? Yes! Renewal...

For us ECEs, PRC has implemented the new ECE Mandate; the RA 9292 replacing RA 5734, the same mandate that changed the ECE Board Exams.

IECEP...
Institute of Electronics Engineers of the Philippines
(formerly known as Institute of Electronics and Communication Engineers of the Philippines)

Haven't heard our organization name for quite a while.
Ngayon kung magpapa-renew for example ako, since ka-e-expired na yung license ko last year,
Renewal plus membership with IECEP would cost Php 1350.00.

I do believe, na mabuti na merong IECEP, ok din sana kung merong mga news or whatever coming from the organization, but visiting the website all i can find are under construction pages, new board exam passers and few seminars for Electronics...

Whatever happened to Communications? Kasama naman sa stipulated law, pero kung ano ang talagang mangyayari -- Who can be sure?

Ewan ko ba -- the whole time, i never received anything substantial from IECEP, its just some requirement i had to pay so that i'll be able to get my license. I'm not sure kung ano ba talaga ang ginagawa ng mga IECEP people, but one is for sure... I can't look forward going back to academe without having to go through the PRC License Application again, PRC and their obnoxious employees, the only government agency i known so far who has the guts to do ego-tripping with Professional License holders. May angas talaga ang PRC -- Tanungin nyo kahit sinong kumuha ng professional license I'm sure meron silang kwento about that.

But for now... i guess i have no plans renewing my license yet, pag sinipag na ako at hindi ko na masyadong panghihinayangan ang pang-renew ko. I just hope by the time na magre-renew na ako eh hindi naman umabot ng ++Php10,000.00 ang fee... Nah ~~ Can't be sure of that as well.

Blog Reviews -- Loi's Professional Heckler

Loi's Professional Heckler...
I' m not actually reviewing his blog... I am telling you visit it! :D

Seldom you will meet bloggers like Loi, all there are in his blog are his rants and thoughts. Witty and timely, all the element for high level and mind tickling humor. I have nothing but praises for his blog and I'm always excited to check his updates usually Monday, Wednesday and Fridays.

You can't really be sure how many visits The Heckler's site. He doesn't have fancy widgets or counters or whatever in his den, besides his internet daily fix and ka-blog list which are equally worth to visit.

He tackles present political issues and in a quite obscured way, makes the comic political scene light and -- comical :D.

Pure talent indeed and he never sesem to run out of creative juices. It always amaze me how the heckler pulls these anecdotes and always have something new to say.

Politics can sure be dirty, but with Loi around we can at least laugh while trying being more serious cleaning it.

One Peso Peke

Steel Coins -- Magnetic

Counterfeits -- Outshining the real ones

Shiny Coins -- and i thought they looked nice

Hmn...
From Wikipedia, Malaki ang epekto ng counterfeit money including inflation among others.

Abalos' Burjer

More than Mr. Jun Lozada's expose and wondering how the Arroyo Administration will ever going to get away with the ZTE Scandal (amazing feat na nga na hindi tumuloy ang maraming scandals eh). One thing I find amusing about this whole ordeal is the Comic Time. Of course the argument is quited flawed, thinking... No dignitary would have you killed in broad daylight, may kasama si Mr. Lozada ang tigas naman ng muka mo kung ipapatay mo sya or ipadukot habang nag-gogolf kayo.

Mr Lozada: Wohooo! nice shot! Birdie to birdie!

Nah -- i don't think so...
But at least... geez, kahit anong paikot thats just plain sad...

So the great Benj Burjer Comic Time! (thanks for 1piso for the clip)

Religion Thread

Two topics one should never open on a date, or generally on conversions with someone you only casually know: religion and politics.

Isang INC at isang Baptist or I guess Born Again. Hndi namin ini-oopen ang topic, it’s not up for discussion...

"Ger? Alis ka na? Counter pa tayo!" "Sorry mga pre -- ash wednesday, misa bro..." (end of discussion)

"Oths, ano? Sine tayo mamya!" "Kayo na lang muna tol, pasalamat namin ngayon" (end of discussion)

Napakabihira ng paguusap namin sa religion, para sa akin kasi kung hindi rin lang kailangan parang paghahanap ng away ang pagdidiscuss ng religion.

Religion Thread -- Feisty

Marami na akong nasalihan na forum, rebelde, grabe at nexgear, symbianize; isa lang ang pansin ko. More than love, ang aura ng mga threads about religion e debaté. Ang gara pa dito several topics are opened but never actually ended.

And thats really ironic considering we are suppose to "love our enemy" guess easier said than done.

I still study religion, spirituality is still important. I still go to church, well sometimes, lam mo na... Its just I don't understand, God sure wants the best for us sigurado yun. Is it God's intention to make all of these complicated? With His infinite love and wisdom, I find that hard to believe so. But somehow – we have that way to complicate things. What do you think?

Bored

Serious mode... :D Please bear with me, wehe!

I'm bored...
Bored to Death

Purpose

Para saan...
Anong dahilan?

Then I decided, how about we do things faster?
Or more effectively?
Set higher standards?
Achieve more?
Pave new path for for dreams we imagine?

With small reflection, so many things opened up...
I have sharpened my saw...

I get a new appreciation.
Sasabay na ulit ako sa umaga...

I'm no longer bored...
To realize so many things to do...
The best is yet to come...

Here, Dare and Everywhere -- Nuts Entertainment Crap

Was watching Nuts Entertainment last Saturday (Feb 02). Puro games ang pakulo ng Nuts, some are entertaining, others are challenging, some you can even adapt on your own little party and most have subtle sensual orientation -- and yes, its all in your head.

Ewan ko lang kung ako lang to... but their segment "Here, Dare and Everywhere" caught my attention. They made nasty dares to several people in exchange of Php 1000.00!

The first dare was -- "Mag-papa-Mo Hawk ka ba for Php 1000.00"

Wow... give your head that Mr. T look? for Php 1000.00? well, at least hair can go back.

Kumusta naman yung sumunod na dare. Papaahit mo yung kilay mo, and then ta-tattooan ka nila ng dots sa dulo ng kilay.

Tattoo...

Syet!

Natatawa ako when they do their creative crazy games on theirselves, but on that part of the show i wasn't laughing -- it was not funny. To grab the opportunity to overpower someone its not nice. Or are they really running out of creative juices to squeeze?

Magmukang Gago for Php 1000.00 -- Game ka?

Tattoo that i never imagined I would ever have -- For Php 1000.00

The Chruch Organist

CHAAAaaaarraann!

Forwarded Email Muna Tayo... Serious to... serious....

Miss Beatrice, the church organist, was in her eighties and had never been married. She was admired for her sweetness and kindness to all.

One afternoon the pastor came to call on her and she showed him into her quaint sitting room. She invited him to have a seat while she prepared tea. As he sat facing her old Hammond organ, the young minister noticed a cute-glass bowl sitting on top of it. The bowl was filled with water, and in the water floated, of all things, a condom!

When she returned with tea and scones, they began to chat. The pastor tried to stifle his curiosity about the bowl of water and its strange floater, but soon it got the better of him and he could no longer resist.

'Miss Beatrice', he said, 'I wonder if you would tell me about this?' pointing to the bowl.

'Oh, yes,' she replied, 'Isn't it wonderful? I was walking through the Park a few months ago and I found this little package on the ground. The directions said to place it on the organ, keep it wet and that it would prevent the spread of disease. Do you know I haven't had the flu all winter.'

Marzipan Babies

weeee!

now, take a load of these Sugar Babies...

problema lang dun sa forward hindi nakalagay kung sino yung "woman" na sinasabing gumawa nung mga babies made of Marzipan... pero searching the net, she is Carmille Allen.

Lupit naman nya!

Marzipan is Almond paste: a sweet paste made of ground almonds and sugar, often with egg whites or yolks, used as a layer in cakes or molded into ornamental shapes.

Hmn... patawa lang, searching more sa Google hindi naman daw sila gawa sa Marzipan kundi sa Polymer Resin? well at least hindi na sila edible. :D

Niweys... with detail and realism -- they are truly artistic...

Astig diba?
ok... back to work :D

Bad trip pati patay pinagsi-sidetripan.

Paano ba ang tamang pagtulong sa kanila?

May isang pangyayari sa college dati, sa isang subject, nabigyan ako ng instructor ko ng privilege na i-transfer ang labis kong added points sa kahit sinong kakilala ko, unwittingly isinagot ko eh sa nakakuha na lang ng pinakamababang grade and so it was given…. After few seconds I thought that I should have given it to a person who will be able to augment his/her few point grade short – yun bang one two points papasa na?. that would have been more helpful.

And a realization of what most of us already know. The only help you can give is the resources that you already have.

I’m glad there are multimarket and millionaires who actually give very large sum for out lesser brother, kahit wala tayong magagawa – at least payapa ng konti ang konsensya natin at hindi nagdamot sa mga batang ito, kahit barya pa rin ang kaya kong ibigay.

Simple

Halimbawa… pagbibigay ng comments – tulong yon! :D nyaha!

Let Me See Your Fingers

He he... medyo mahirap mag-compose ng mga serious articles :D
sa lighter side of life muna, again... naforward lang ulit ito sa akin...

hmn... for sure mas mahaba ang palasing-singan ko kaysa sa hintuturo ko... pero hindi nga? may basis ba itong picture na to???

and moreover, with the liberation our society is having nowadays, sexist ka na bang matatawag kung "gay" ang i-jo-joke mo? well i guess...

Sariling Sikap

Sometimes we can’t always afford to always be serviced, mas praktikal ang sariling sikap. Yep! It’s more practical and we can even do it on our own time and pace. Walang mahahassle and much more we can do it on the privacy of our own home. Ah yes the wonders Self Help materials can do. :D

I believe that next phase of having that enthusiasm to read is to read the books and study the materials that can actually teach you something helpful, materials that can develop and even make you learn from the experiences and expertise of others.

The first ever book that I actually bought besides Pugad Baboy Series (for the entertainment value) and the ECE Books (because of the board exams). And I was able to buy it for Php 250.00. Considering the things I have learned from that book, I’d say I have bought more that I have paid for.

One of the chapters in that book tried to suggest the area of your life you would actually want to change or you consider needing more development among the others.

get test here: Focusing on Needed Goals

My result looks like this. (Hmn… I really think I need to lose some weight).

Well the point of the test is to confirm to you what you actually think is important. What you actually would like to accomplish. What you must focus on. And from there – you can focus on your efforts on achieving further for that area.

For one I could say, Self Development materials aim to confirm what you already know. What are already embedded to your kind and fine nature, but our environment has its ways of persuading us to what might lead us differently from those virtues. Thus we, from time to time need to rethink our ways, recalibrate where we are and where we would like to be. And at some point actually aim for something.

One of my senior commented, that he doesn’t believe what these authors have written. Like they are contradicting or all of them have the biases from their experiences, and makes us believe that if we do how they did it, we will be successful when in fact we all have the different lives and there is no actual pattern for success.

There is no exact life true, there is no pattern for success – but I believe that there are principles. Much like law of gravity, Human Relations, Spiritual Faith, Finance and Success are governed by principles. And when you get to develop and instill them to yourself one can accomplish what his / her good heart desires. Sure, I can learn from experiences, but history also tells us that we don’t have to reinvent the wheel, thus experiences and expertise from who came first can be a good guide and helps us to further our steps even though we are just to walk through that path yet.

Siemps mas masaya kung maraming kasama diba? May makashare… I haven’t walked this path before it’s all new and equally promising much like everyday. No one say he’s actually righteous and doing it perfectly, that the same reason why I would like to share it. Flawed and all… isn’t it a breath of fresh air to realize what you would like to change? Umn… well its not, but you get my point.

And for sure, mas malupit kung mabasa mo rin from the actual author, yung mga i-sha-share at paguusapan natin. Sharing experiences and learnings like all friends do. So from sariling sikap to group effort!

Tara! :D

Treasure Award from Marga!

I'm not sure whatever i did to deserve this award but i thank Marga for it :D
Cheers!

Blog Reviews -- Ella Ganda's Confessions

Nasubaybayan ko ang blog ni Ella from her number88 days. The fresh entries of her first career, what pushed her, the joys, the pains, the boundaries, the entrigues, everything you would like to know about being a masseuse.

number88 -- sexy, senti, smart :D

"it’s a dog eats dog world..."

She was able to integrate sexiness and cleverness in her stories. And she made us saw it in a different light, in sordid details even. What i found more graceful about her views is that she never had a hint of self pity... She complains, swear even, but in the end of it all, she took action and ultimately changed her self – and transformed her life.

She eventually earned her degree and quitted being a masseuse all together, wow -- the promise of true education!

ella ganda.com -- woman empowered!

Having her own domain ellaganda.com, marks her graduation from being masseuse -- and becoming a freelance writer that suits her so well. I really appreciate her lifestyle articles, and you can't imagine how well travelled she really is. From Amanpulo, Boracay, Disney Land, I can't wait to hear her next trip and her experience in that place. When she tells her story, she tells it with an enthusiasm of a little girl -- and criticizes for points of improvement.

Isa pang kapansin-pansin kay Ella eh ang kanyang mga well presented opinions and convictions. Remember when she gone ballistic against Malou Fernandez, Mike, and the Writers of Desperate Housewives? She presented solid points plus angst words you would not want to be in the receiving end.

But what I find most admirable about her is when you converse with her, kahit hindi pa kayo nagkikita is that warm welcome feel -- as if you're talking to a friend. I have requested one or two articles from her, and I am just glad whenever she gives her two cent about it.

Para syang kapitbahay mo na may uwing souvenir from a vacation, kaibigan mong hopeless romantic and an empowered woman you would not want to mess with.

Nyah! For sure Starstruck moment yon! Ü
